LIONEL LEWIS
Date of birth: 16 December 1982
Position: Goalkeeper

One of an outstanding trio of keepers - the others being Shahril Jantan and Hassan Sunny - that have turned out for Geylang United, Lionel has plenty of international experience despite his young years. After starting his career at Geylang, Lionel became part of the first Young Lions side to play in the S.League in 2003. The commander of his penalty area, Lionel was voted as the Most Valuable Player in the 2004 Tiger Cup, an additional feather in his cap after Singapore's triumphant campaign.

ASHRIN SHARIFF
Date of birth: 10 October 1982
Position: Striker

Always a handful in the opposition box, Ashrin joins from SAFFC after a previous spell with the Young Lions in 2003. Strong in the air and inventive on the ground, the striker will be hoping to make up for his disappointment at missing out on the South-East Asian Games in 2003 by forcing his way into the squad for the 2005 Games.

SHI JIAYI
Date of birth: 2 September 1983
Position: Midfielder

Jiayi made an immediate impact with the Young Lions after joining from Sinchi FC during the mid-season transfer window in 2004. A positive, hardworking midfielder, his performances earned him a nomination for the S.League Young Player of the Year award that season.

NOOR IKHSAN RAZALI
Date of birth: 29 June 1986
Position: Defender

Lanky defender Ikhsan joined the Young Lions from the national U18 team for the 2004 season and featured several times in the S.League and Singapore Cup. His impressive performances culminated in his maiden call-up to the national team last July.

TENGKU MUSHADAD
Date of birth: 7 August 1984
Position: Midfielder

A unique standout amongst his peers, Tengku made his international debut before making an S.League appearance when he turned out for Singapore against Japan in November 2004. With the likes of Ismail Yunos and Shahril Alias, the composed and hardworking defensive midfielder joins the Young Lions after impressing for the U21 national team.

BAIHAKKI KHAIZAN
Date of birth: 31 January 1984
Position: Defender

Baihakki Khaizan's rise to prominence has been a swift one. In the National Football Academy age-group squads, he caught the eye with his 1.9m stature, instinctive confidence and composure at the back. Signing on with Geylang United in 2003, Baihakki took the Young Player of the Year award in his debut S.League season. After learning his craft alongside former Singapore international Lim Tong Hai, the lanky defender then moved to the Young Lions in 2004 and captained the team in the S.League.
